This past summer, Kerry and I changed the name of our marriage ministry. We changed it to Pursuit of Marriage. This better describes what we see in scripture as well as our experiences of what marriage is about. It is a daily pursuit, or better defined as a daily act of following God with a distinct view to reach, accomplish and/or obtain holiness through our marriage journey. We are excited for what God has planned for our families and marriages in 2018.
We have already scheduled and are preparing for 3 Marriage Retreats and for a One-Day Conferences in 2018.
Each POM Marriage Retreat is designed for a small group, 8-12 couples, to come together and examine through God’s Word the principles God has ordained for our marriages. The retreats will be held at an “Off-Site” location for three days and two nights. This time will allow each couple to grow and apply the lessons shared as well as create a fellowship bond with the other couples attending. The cost for each of these retreats include lodging, meals, snacks and materials for each attendee. The Themes for the POM Marriage Retreats in 2018 will be: Intimacy In Marriage-The Three Facets of Intimacy in Marriage: Emotional-Physical-Spiritual and Awakening Love-Understanding the Physical Oneness in a Biblical Marriage. This retreat is solely focused on the Sexual facet that is necessary in a Biblically focused marriage. This retreat will include very explicit and frank discussions. This retreat will also be limited to the first 7 couples.
The POM One-Day Conferences are designed to be a one-day large group event. The times will be from 2pm till 8pm with a catered dinner for each attendee. The Topics for the POM One-Day Conference will be “Did You Hear What I Just Said?”: a time to evaluate and possibly correct how we listen to our spouses. Techniques and suggestions will be shared to learn how to properly communicate with each other.
