It’s a quiet and beautiful morning on our back porch. Enjoying a cup of coffee and having my quiet time with God. Kerry came out and we reflected on what it means to have “Freedom.”. I shared with her what I was reading out Galatians 5:1, 13
“Christ has liberated us to be free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery. For you were called to be free, brothers; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.”
How many times do we use our freedom to correct another person to our own perspective? How many times do we get hung up on the “rules” of our agenda? We are given a freedom through His love and grace and mercy. Let’s not set that aside so as to be always right in our own eyes. Instead, as Paul teaches us: “serve one another through love.”
We are free as Americans because so many gave their lives for strangers. They served others through love.
Happy 4th of July!
